This wouldn't help supply chain/shipping issues if it gets worse:

Only 85 miles from Hong Kong.

Yikes!

More solar power please.

Are we going to go right from a pandemic to a nuclear spill by China?

Hahaha, I caught this on several news sites, there are several versions of the story and some are downright Chicken Little without ANY information to go on but Assumptions. What's funny, it has different versions depending on what continent & news source, guess where Chicken Little is clucking loudest... Naaaa it's a suckers bet.

Any of the near by countries. Fukushima is still polluting the world.

You always fear the worst with China since there is no transparency. Lies and coverups are the norm.

You all need to start ordering solar components fast. I saw in CNN that the location of this nuc plant is in the center of industrial cities. Once this facility becomes another Fukushima.......it will be 3-4 years or more, and solar components will sky high.

No. The official Chinese Media says there is nothing to worry about.

The companies manufacturing nearby have just announced a new line of 'glow in the dark' solar products.
Mr Green has ordered a lot to send to Will for testing

This time no need for battery as storage. It glows in the dark.

You can't really hide these things. For example, notice the line representing Fukushima or Chernobyl -- this is air quality data from Miami FL...
If there's a big leak, it goes world-wide in a few months.

That's so not funny. I'm still annoyed at all the radioactive drywall they sent.

Hopefully with the radiation monitors in ports now that sort of stuff can get shipped back.

Caveat emptor - buyer beware.
That's the problem with a lot of Chinese and other 3rd world goods with low prices due to low labour rates. We in the west get enamoured with the low prices and are frequently surprised and disappointed when they don't meet our expected level of Quality Control.

Also known as - if it's too good to be true ...
Or - you get what you pay for.

China is not a third world country.

The people in China who disclosed that allowed levels of radiation leaking from the plant were raised will be forced to issue statements of retraction.
Workers in the plant will be forbidden to wear protective gear, so as to not cause unnecessary panic.
New mutant strains of Covid will appear, initially in this area and then spread rapidly across the world. Radioactive Covid causes cancer!

ROFLMAO Seriously ? Name ONE Country that doesn't !
Tossing rocks in a glass greenhouse != genius.

The political twinges Eeeee Gads !

US, some hospitals forbid their workers to wear masks as Covid spread.

Flint Michigan, for water quality samples, residents were directed to first turn the tap on full blast, so the sample would contain only water from the mains, not what dissolved off lead branch pipes due to water company failing to use required corrosion inhibitors.

But it is our expectation that China and Russia will clamp down on social/news media reports. Here in the US they are generally available, but often lost in a sea of lies and fear-mongering.
One radioactive plume was determined to have originated at a particular facility in Russia because they had failed to deliver a particular isotope, linking them to was was measured. I think to this day they deny it.

Don' forget to stock up and consume Iodine while you scan for radiation.

Unless you're present after an explosion such as at Chernobyl where radioactive iodine is created, you're fine. It also decays in a matter of weeks, so you can visit places like Chernobyl today without worrying about Iodine.
