maybe a stupid question but I want to protect my solar cables outside with a Conduit (not underground).I use 6mm2 cable, what size of conduit can I use for this?thx

Knowing how many cables you want to put in the conduit would be helpful ;)

6mm2 is equivalent to 10 awg. If it's just two cables, then 1/2" PVC would work. But yeah, we'd need to know how many to say for sure.

6mm2 solar cable will likely have OD of about 7mm, maybe 8mm max, so I'd go for conduit with ID of at least 20mm, so as not too tight to pull through.

thank you very much. I will look on amazon for 20mm conduit.
is that cheaper where you are? In the states one thing that is massively cheaper in hardware stores is longer things like conduit

I'd always do double the size at least vs what you need unless you're certain it's permanently never going to change. I find myself wanting to run more stuff down 5-10 years pretty frequently.

The UK sewer system was famously doubled by the engineer 200 years ago or whenever it was (making up years there) and they're thankful for that today.

In the UK best place is on-line specialist electrical wholesalers - not sure about Belgium.

Here it's weird. All the fittings are like 1/3rd the price on some wholesale sites but the long pipes themselves are way cheaper at the stores lol

maybe because home delivery costs more, especially when over 1m long
