Not sure where this should be posted .
Wanted to share my recent project and get feedback.
I have a lead acid battery bank with 300ah of useable capacity. I have rather shallow overnight discharge around 40-50ah . I've found that charging starts slow in the morning and by the time current ramps up it's near the end of bulk charging . Due to the recommend high absorption voltage (15.8v) this doesn't seem to be an issue . But after setting up vrm and playing with node-red I set it up to turn the charger off an night and only turn on when panel VOC threshold is reached (69v) in my case which normally starts charging at 20-25A rather them single digits amps . time spent charging is less and float mode is reached around the same time of day compared to keeping the charger on all the time . I have a failsafe to turn on at 10Am incase of a cloudy / rainly day to get some charging if that happens .
