Just installed the eg4 6000 ex with eg4 batteries. Installed communication cables from batteries to inverter, and verified with signature solar that the bms is talking to the inverter. The problem is that some settings should have switched from battery voltage to battery percentage. They didn't. Signature solar was not helpful in telling me why. Anyone know how to fix this?

I just recently resolved my 6000EX to EG4-LL battery communication issue and have noticed the same. In the manual, various settings say they will display percentage instead of voltage when Setting #14 is set to EG4, but this doesn't seem to be accurate. It would be great if this could be implemented, but as of now I've monitored my battery during various states of charge, and made note of percentages and voltages to determine my desired settings.

Any update on this?

Just set up an eg4 6000 and 2 lifepowers.

But there's no % for certain settings as it says in the manual.
There's no % indicator for battery level anywhere in any of the menus. Just voltage.
The app takes too long to update with its 10-15 minute intervals. Sometimes longer. It's faster to literally go look at the screen.

Otherwise. It's running and doing its job perfectly so far.

I’ll double check mine tomorrow but after changing the battery type In option 14 to EG4 the various settings changed to percentages rather than numeric values. I’ll also verify the firmware versions. Only options 20 and 21 should show percentages per the manual.

SolarPower. Green icon from Play Store. One recommended in the manual.

Definitely didn't change mine and I have it set to EG4 in setting 14. Still only get voltages.

Is a firmware update required. I'm always hesitant to update firmwares if everything is working correctly which it is. Never had an issue yet.

Just curious, how many batteries? Did you set DIP switches in order: 0, 1, 2, etc? Did you connect inverter to battery 0?

two batteries.
1 = Down, Down, Down, Down
2 = Up, Down, Down, Down

Inverter connected to top battery (down down down down)

This is interesting. Mine dodesnt even have EG4 next to the figures. So they may be a communication issue still. But I dont get any errors. I had error 61 but I flipped the cable and it never appeared again. You did the update yourself or system came updated?

Firmware is
U1 63.13
U2 61.08

so old ones I assume

I've only had mine for a short time, but decided to run the update for the neutral grounding issue. I do seem to remember the inverter cable needs to go in only one way. It looks like the ends are the same, but they aren't. Have you connected a PC to the inverter cable to see if you can talk to the BMS using the BMS test software?

Maybe look at this post: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/rs485-cable-diy.49329/#post-628037

After some issues. Firmware updates and now using % instead of voltages. Quick question. Not sure I'm understanding the wording of the manual.

I want my system to Power loads using solar, if not enough use battery.

At night/early morning. I want my system to use battery and if it gets below to 15% switch over to utility. I have it doing this so far.

From here now is what I'm unsure of.

Charger Source Priority.
After it switches to bypass mode and is powering loads from utility.
I barely want the utility to trickle charge the battery and keep it from dropping further. I want to have utility keep loads running until the sun comes out. I'm in the Caribbean and almost every day is sunny to charge and utility is expensive almost USD 40cents/kw equivalent.

So for setting 10 do I put CSO or SNU to achieve this.

My utility charge is set to 10 amps.
Does this mean that utility only has 10 amps to Power loads or will it use the full 40Amp bypass capacity and this 10 amps is only to charge battery.

Sorry for this but it seems to be a thread with persons with the 6000 and working with it.
