I did see videos of using 12-24 adapters to trick delta max etc., to charging at 250W etc., However is it possible to use the metal clip cable to supply 12V via trailer port wiring and get it charge at 20A instead of 8A limited? Or to get higher than 8V a higher voltage has to be provided?

I'm unclear if you are talking about the trailer light plug or an actual buddy plug that's 30A output on a RV/Trailer.

If you are looking for 30A out of the light port, then you are really limited to the wiring on the truck, more than the plug itself.

The truck wiring has a 30A fuse for this circuit, so I am assuming that its the limit and 20A should be fine
