I am looking at a couple options to build my own ground mount system.
First question is whether to tilt or not to tilt. It makes some design difference if I tilt and build something that will allow for that.
I have several options using resourced materials. Thoughts on the following would be appreciated. This will be for two racks of 40 each (or close pending if I go portrait or landscape etc). I will likely go into (2) Solark 15K (I am still thinking about the EG4 18k) but that another question.
Option 1 would use 8 inch 1/4 C channel built with 8" 1/4 C Channel as the arms. Built either with or without tilt. Anchored in 24 inch pier or concrete counter weight (think Sinclair)
Option 2 would use 4 inch 3/8 I beam with 4 inch I beam top (likely two sets one at 7 foot one and 4 foot similar to a pole type ground mount)
Option 3 Use 6x6 poles and wood construction as many others on here have.
Option 4 Use 3 inch or 4 inch well casing
Any thoughts on the viability of any of these? Pros/Cons?
