Have searched everywhere but wasn’t sure abt this answer - Growatt 12k inverter - can I connect the grid AC wires directly to the AC IN of the Growatt and AC out to the 200 Amp main panel breaker ?

Wasn’t sure if that’ll burn the inverter - the AC breaker on the Growatt is 80 A

Obviously not an electrician but a diy guy

Thanks

People usually use a subpanel to send their inverter's AC output and power the inverter from a dedicated breaker in the main breaker panel. The input and output can't be connected to the same source or you would have a loop. The only inverter I know of that can take mains directly is the Sol-Ark 15k which has 200A pass through.

You could, but I wouldn't.
You will be limiting yourself to 80a always from your main panel. Assuming that's what the pass through rating is. (I don't remember off the top of my head)

You can't do that. It's worse than a dead short for the inverter
