Greetings all. My daughter is totally off grid. 300 watts of solar. 2 deep cycle batteries. 2000 watt pure sine inverter. 5500 watt generator. So far in 2 years she has fried 2 invertors because of not unplugging them when starting the genny. So I bought her an automatic transfer switch. Cheapo from China.

(GEYA Mini ATS Automatic Transfer Switch Electrical Selector Switches Dual Power Switch 2Pole 100A 110V 50/60Hz Grid to AC Generator ) Hooked it up today and it isn't switching automatically. I have the main source as the invertor and secondary source from the generator. It doesn't switch when genny is running. My thinking is to use genny as primary. And invertor as secondary. When genny is on it's running the cabin and charging the batteries. Genny turned off, transfer, invertor kicks in.
