How does the Hybrid Inverter Controller Charger know where to get power

I am trying to design a system with 2.4 kw of panels, about 14 KW of LiFePo4 batteries , and a 5KVA, 4KW inverter controller charger. I live in the Philippines where the grid and house system is 220 volts. The Hybrid unit has 3 possible sources of power for the house - panels, batteries, and 220v from either the grid or a generator, which are manually selectable through an A/B switch. What I am unable to resolve is how does the inverter "decides" where to source its power from? Is that generally a programmable feature? I appreciate any insight anyone can share. Be safe.

I haven't bought the unit yet. My question was generic, but maybe they all work differently. Thanks for the response.

The hybrid inverter I used had settings for priorities.
Like
Solar, Battery, Grid
or
Solar, Grid, Battery

It should be pretty much seamless and automatic.

That's what I was hoping. Looked everywhere online for an explanation. Should have come here first. I guess I'll see when it shows up. Thanks
