hello everyone i just wanted to ask whats the best way to set up my new solar panels i have 6 new 550watts LR5-72hph-550m longi

i have this inverter solar EASUN POWER 5000W 48V Solar Inverter 450Vdc 80A MPPT Parallel Inverter 230V Pure Sine Wave Hybrid Inverter 80A Battery Charger. its only going to run off grit with my batterybank

should i make 2-3 series

i have 11*270watts panels that runs in 3 series but my plan was to just set up a new combiner box up for the new and run a new cable to the inverter charger

so the old panels will face west the new south

thank you so much for your help ^^

That's a high voltage MPPT, and it's likely limited on what it can use on the PV input current side.

What is its PV input current limit?

Adding panels of different types to the same MPPT requires special considerations.

For parallel connected strings, series Vmp must be with about 10%
For series, Imp must be as close as possible as ALL panels in the string will run at the current of the lowest rated panel.

3S may to too low for the operating range of your MPPT.

DO YOU HAVE A LINK TO THE MANUAL?

its the 5kw version i have im not sure where to download the manual but i can take pictures of the pages

That is NOT the unit you implied. That has a 145V MPPT, not a 450V MPPT

Your only option for the new panels is 2S as three will exceed 145Voc.

so your 270W strings must also equal about 100Voc

Your MPPT can't survive more than 145V.

From this:

Your 290W panels have a -0.36%/°C Voc temp coefficient

3 * 44Voc = 132V

That means you only have (145-132)/145 = 13/145 = 8.97% temperature margin.

That means that 25°+8.97%/-.36%/°C = 0°C

If it EVER gets below freezing, you run the risk of destroying your MPPT

Same exercise for your new panels:

3 * 49.8Voc = 149.4V = you've exceeded your MPPT max voltage. You absolutely, positively can't do 3S with the new panels. Period.

You need to change your 290W array to a 2S5P configuration
You need to wire your new panels in a 2S3P configuration

Failure to do so will likely result in MPPT failure.

thank you so much for your help sorry im so stupid is this right then ? there the old system and the new i want to build looks like the 290 watt there are 3 diffrent brand panels now that i look in the old system 3sunbe 8 knive

Neither your old system or your new system is valid.

You can't put any of your panels in 3S.

Strings must have the same number of panels. You can't use the 11th panel.

Please fill in the following:

550W panels: quantity 6
Sunbe 290W panels: quantity ____
Kinve 290W panels: quantity ____

the old system is how its set up todaya and works ? ?

550W panels: quantity 6
Sunbe 290W panels: quantity 3
Kinve 290W panels: quantity 8

the old system is how its set up todaya and works ? ?

It doesn't work as well as it should. Your South facing array is not using the 5th panel as it's impossible to do so.

You can't put two wildly different votlage strings in parallel and capture all panels.

You have 2S in parallel with 3S. Your 5 panels is performing like a 4 panel array in 2S2P.

Furthermore, being in parallel with the other 3S2P array,

550W panels: quantity 6

2S3P array of these panels.

Sunbe 290W panels: quantity 3

2S array of these panels. Discard the third panel.

Kinve 290W panels: quantity 8

2S4P array of these.

You can then parallel the three arrays for a net array of 2S8P panels.

Their Vmp is about 10% different, so they should be good.

EACH 2S STRING must have suitable fuse or breaker.

so i get it would be something like this then, Thanks so much for the help can i buy you a coffie or something

well i have some work to do i have 16 amp breakers in the combinerbox

Yes, except your leads are not at consistent locations, but I understand you may have done this for sketch convenience:

Your first string is connected at the first (+) position and the second (-) position. They should be at the same position.

16A are technically not appropriate for any of your panels.

update i figured out i dont have any knive panels they are sunbe and the panels i have 3 of is a diffrent brand 310 watts i also have an inveter for my 800watt 48 wind turbine but i don't use it its taken down but the inverter for wind can also take solar panel so i guess i can just put the ekstra on there
i will be using this Construction wire it says it can be used anywhere indoors outdoors can be dug down set in concrete also in wet environments
