I had to put a user on ignore because he is a flame war baiter but his posts still show up. Is ignore not working?

I just tried it on you, and it's working.
Hover your mouse over his avatar and see if it says 'Unignore'. If it says 'Ignore' it's not active.

Did you refresh the page after clicking on ignore?

I walked away for awhile and when I opened back up the offending post with all the sniping is gone from my view, so it is apparently working now. Probably was before too and I didn't see the effects yet until I closed the page and reopened it. Effectively yes, refreshing it.
