Inline fuse between solar panel and mppt.

I have followed Will’s plan for a 400w. System . I have fuse between mppt and battery. Fuse between mppt and dc distribution panel.
do I need fuses between solar panels and mppt. No where in his plans do they appear. I’ve watched the videos and no mention of fuses.
Im a bit confused as these fuses are for sale. Do I really need them?

Which is less expensive to replace , a fuse, or the controller.......fuses are limiting devices......they are for protecting devices....

I don't use any fuses between solar panels and charger, BUT I make sure that the wires will not rub through on sharp edges and can't move around. I simply don't want the added resistance of a fuse at this point. I also use US made quality marine or aviation grade wires, not any of this cheap crap with weak insulation.

Ancor Marine Grade Primary Wire is a good product.

We installed a resettable fuse in ours for the fact that panels are connected last and disconnected first at the controller for any service or changes.

Thanks for the information. I also have used US made marine grade wire and have used thicker sizes then could be used.
