Insulated battery box: incandescent bulb for heat good idea?

Directly under the batteries in an insulated enclosure.
Sorry I meant some type of metal buffer between the heating pad and the batteries to distribute the heat and keep from melting the battery wrap.

Put the bulb as low as possible and try and leave air space around your cells, you will get some natural convection to distribute the heat more evenly.

I use a 25 watt silicone pad for each of my two 280ah batteries and they held temp in the back of my pickup in single digit temps with the heaters set to come on at 7c and off at 10c.

No insulation except carpet under the floor of the battery box and I threw a thin blanket over the top of the box. I do use a fan to circulate the air in each box with the cells raised about 1” off the bottom.
