Is my active balancer working in reverse?

I just charged my battery and I'm having the Seplos BMS keeping it at 56V to balance it.
You can see the on/off state of the active balancer (turns on at 55.2V); the voltage differential is increasing instead of decreasing.

The current going into the battery is about 0.5A

Does seem like something is wrong. Initial guess would be a poor connection somewhere.

It started to converge eventually and it balanced after several hours; I don’t know why it was diverging initially

Probably just the non-linear charging curve at the top makes it harder to know exactly what is going on.
