After discovering Will Prowse and his videos on lifepo4 batteries and their assorted accoutrements, and visiting this forum religiously for about six months, I felt ready to take the plunge. As of yesterday, I've ditched my old Trojan L-16's and switched over to 280ah of lifepo4.
The route I chose to get there seems to not be the most typical path. I wanted to save money (more bang for my buck) and I also enjoy the hands-on experience of doing it myself. Again, thanks to this forum, I heard of a business out of Colorado (Treeline Power Systems) run by a gentleman named Randy Scheer. After visiting his website I ordered a 24v 280ah lifepo4 system with a 200ah BMS. This was shipped to me unassembled in two well-packaged boxes via UPS.
Assembly was very straight forward, with the exception of the BMS, and required only one phone call to Randy (answered within 24 hours) for help.
I've attached a few pics of the system before, during and completed. Any questions, ask, and I'll do my best to answer/explain what has thus far been an exciting and rewarding experience.
I should say that this powers my entire off-grid home here in the wilds of the Big Horn Basin in Wyoming.

I also have 2400W of solar panels 3s3p a 60a 150v MPPT so maybe one of those 280AH batteries from Treeline Power Systems would be all I need. That would definitely be a cheaper route then 2 24V 200AH batteries and if a cell went bad or the bms goes bad I assume one could buy replacements. They appear easy to assemble. So, are you still happy with that battery? If I decide I need more storage can I parallel a 2nd battery if I do it within 3 months?

Yes still very happy. After a year had passed, I added an additional 230ah battery to the system, now 510ah total, and it has been integrated seamlessly. Very happy with the lifepo4.

After further investigation I think I will go with 2 24V 200AH EG4-LL (V1) server rack batteries. They are on sale for $1399 each with 10 Year warranty. I got a quote that with shipping ($214 to Florida), an EG4 battery charger ($174), $50 first time buyer discount and military discount off my deceased husband's service. So shipped it will be $2998. They did say that it works with schneider inverter and the 60 150 MPPT. So, do you think that is a good deal?

Yes, that's not bad. It saves you the time and labor of ordering and assembling the batteries yourself. Plus, you have the warrantee should you encounter difficuties.
