JK BMS - Wake up from sleep takes ~90 seconds?

I have a 24s JK BMS - built at the end of '22, but don't have exact model in front of me - and am using a simple momentary power button to put it in "sleep" mode as I go long periods where I don't use the battery.

I noticed that when pressing the button to turn "ON" or wake up the BMS it takes around 90 seconds or so to hear what I presume is a relay to click, and power appears at the POS and NEG terminals.

I think that having "Balance" switched on in the BMS settings may be the cause of this delay, as I don't recall it taking that long when I had used the pack previously - power was available within 10 seconds or so after pressing the power switch, but I didn't have "Balance" enabled.

I'll need to verify this, but is this normal behavior? All seems to work normally when it powers back up after that delay (not sure about SOC being correct though...).

FYI, the only load on the terminals at turn-on is a Renogy shunt-based SOC meter which should have a very small current draw.

Thanks for any insight.
