Question on "not in use" solar panels. I constructed a 2000 watt (185Volt) solar array to be used for back up power if/when we lose power. Should I leave the solar panels connected or leave them unconnected while not in use? ie...all connected in series or leave each panel undone? Didn't know the safety concerns. Thanks.

Far more important is to cover them with a tarpaulin or something. No light falling onto the panels, no degradation. Additionally prevents unwanted dust from accumulating.

You can leave the string connected as it is. That way you will have easier time preparing them for use when needed.

Are they outside all the time? If so, leave things connected so the plugs don't get moisture in them/corroded/etc.
And leave them connected to the SCC so you don't have bare ends with a couple hundred volts hanging around loose to bite someone.
