Since laser etched QR codes are no longer a true tell, experience must be relied upon. As I have no successful (more later) experience buying LiFePo4 cells, I must rely upon others who have good experiences purchasing battery cells.
My needs are not small. If I were to be buying 4 cells, I might not be so concerned, but we are complete off-gridders. We intend on purchasing 64 cells. I don't mind telling anyone that the amount of money that is to be paid for them is not making me comfortable.
We tried purchasing cells earlier this year. The transaction did not go well. We never received the cells and the seller swore up and down the cells had arrived at our post office. Even their own shipping code stated their shipment had not left China. Eventually, our money was refunded and we have become very weary of transactions with businesses we cannot walk through their door.
If the transaction goes well for the first 64 cells goes well and we are able to build our battery bank for our new home, next year we plan another purchase. We have plans to have a second battery bank that will also power our Volvo XC70 that has a blown engine.
I am in contact with two sellers who seem willing to help me. One is very eager...perhaps too eager. The other is nice and has been patient. I wonder who has the trust of people who have purchased cells before. Especially those with larger quantities of cells.
Thank you
