Low temp cut-off in series?

If I have a 24v system with two 12v batteries in series and only one has low temp cut off. Will it protect both sense they are in series

Yes. There will be no current in a series circuit if one component in the circuits opens - in this case the charge path when the BMS of one of the batteries detects a low temp.
