MM 2012 programming with laptop

Hi all, I have a Magnum MM1212 Inverter Charger that I do not have the ME RC 50 remote for.
My questions are these:
1. what is the charging rate set for out of the box, or after a hard reset?
2. Has anyone ever successfully connected a laptop to the inverter and been able to program it that way?
