Hello! new to the forum. I have a PowMr all-in-one 3.2kW 24v ordered and bought 4-250w, 30.3v (37.6Voc) panels. I will be running a single 24v 100Ah battery to start, but intend to add another battery in the near future. My question is on the panel setup. The charge controller has PV input range of 30-108v, 1600w. Am I better off running the panels all in parallel for 30v, 1000w or series-parallel for 60v, 500w? Is one of these configurations more effective and if so, why? I know that the 30v, 1000w configuration would require larger wire due to the increase in amperage. The system will be running a small cabin (lights, maybe tv/radio, fans, charging phones, small fridge). Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum Griz.

I would go for the higher voltage connection, for the reason you mentioned.

The exception to that might be if partial shading may be a problem.
With series connection, one shaded panel (or even part of a panel) will effectively reduce the output of the whole series string.
Parallel panel connection, you only lose the shaded panel without effecting the others.
