We have a house at the beach, need 40kwh of storage, currently using Rolls FLA batteries.

We use all Schneider equipment including a Conext 6848 inverter.

Can any one advise if a BMS is still needed or if the 6848 will handle that.

Thanks

It depends on if you are using drop in batteries, or assembling cells for the bank...

Answer is Conext 6848 can handle what you are doing but the question you are asking about Conext 6848 and BMS is totally separate ...

As you well know the Conext 6848 is designed to take battery to household current ... and the BMS is designed to strictly protect the batteries ...

My answer is YES - you will need a specific LiFePO4 BMS to regualte the batteries properly .... UNLESS you are positive that you can program your charger to properly charge the LFP and that your Conext 6848 will shut off BEFORE the batteries drop below 5% ...

for CALB, Prices range from $170/kWhr to $300/kWhr
$6,800 = 40kWhr x $170/kWhr
$12,000 = 40kWhr x $300/kWhr <== WOW !!!
