I am trying to calculate my energy requirements (panel & battery) for a remote security camera. I decided to do a test to see what amps the camera is actually drawing. I've connected the camera, a Reolink RLC-830A, to a 12v battery running through my multimeter.
The readings that I am getting, roughly 0.2 Amps in daylight, 0.4 Amps at night using the infrared lights and 0.5 Amps when the security lights are activated.
The camera is stated to be 12 Watts. Do these readings look in the ballpark? Am I doing this correctly?

Dave
