I ordered the new 24-volt Victron MultiPlus II 2x120v this week from Inverters R Us with Free Shipping and free programming! It arrived today. Great tech support and excellent packaging.

Does the 2x120 mean it can do 240v split phase output?

No. It's 120 on each leg out. The big change is that it supports 24 volt battery systems instead of just 12 volt.

It looks like they moved the switch from the front panel to the bottom. When I was working in the compartment where my Multiplus is installed, I kept hitting the switch on the front panel. I think I like the new location of the switch.

Adding to this page it is split phase

Any format differences from the 12v? Are the connectors the same? Please show the bottom with the cover off.

Adding to this page it is split phase

"However, 240VAC is only available when the MultiPlus is supplied by a split phase 120/240VAC source. This prevents heavy loads such as water heaters or 240V air conditioners from discharging the battery."

I believe this means if it is fed 240V split phase, it will pass through 240V split phase. I don't believe it will provide 240V split phase inverter output from batteries or solar.

That’s what I was looking for. Does it output 240 split phase itself. Apparently not.

With the cover off...
1. One stud for each battery input leg instead of two. Maybe since it's 24 volt they don't think two studs are needed. The glands will support only one cable in each gland anyhow.
2. It looks like there is more room between the gland and the AC input wire terminals. Big improvement there.
3. The ground lug is in a much better spot than my Multiplus 12/3000. I fought with mine because I installed the inverter first and then connected the wires. Big mistake on my part.
4. All glands will be close to the wall where the Multiplus is installed. That's great! No bending of the wires coming out of the gland to get to the wall where they can be secured.

Those are some great improvements! Maybe the Multiplus II 12 volt already had those features, but my Multiplus (non II) 12 volt didn't and that's what I'm comparing it to.

Any experience with this 23V Multiplus II 2x120 yet?

I’m specifically interested to understand whether you are using it in a grid-tied configuration and more specifically interested to understand whether you are using it to offset load when grid-tied.

If I understand the design correctly, even when grid/tied and 240VAC is passing through the transfer switches, the nverter is only able to power one leg with 120VAC.

Do even if you use the optional external CT sensor to offset grid-side load, only the loss on one leg can be offset - is this correct?

Did you notice that you're missing the negative pads for the battery cables? I just received 2 of these units and both are missing the pads.

Every 24v MP-II that I’ve seen has the same battery post set up. They aren't missing any bar or plate. Some of Victron MPs don’t have any plate/bar. Good contact with the right size lug rings works fine.
