First, thank you in advance for all the great resources here. I have been lurking for awhile now. Mods, please move post if it is not in the correct area.

I'm building my first solar system. My goal is to make it portable and as versatile as possible, with DC/Alternator/Solar/AC charging options. My current parts list is below and I've attached my circuit diagrams too. I've also added a rough setup pic (minus the contactors).

I don't think the current BMS can handle the 2000w inverter I have planned. I'm going to use the contactors to funnel the current, controlled by the two BMSs. I'm not sure where to put the shunt though. If I put it downstream of the contactors, it will be easier to wire and when one battery goes it won't shut the other one down. However, This won't capture the full load, correct? If I put it before, I'm not sure the best way to wire everything with the batteries in parallel. I have two diagrams, one with the shunt before and one after, using relays to control the contactor. If anyone has ideas how to best wire it, they would be awesome. Diagrams are not to scale and things are not in correct spatial locations. I am using the sterling BB1230 as a charging input from either a AC-DC power supply or battery/alternator. 40 amp fuses.

I know solar panels will use 10ga wire and MPPT will be 4ga. I was thinking 8ga from DC charging side and at least 1/0 or solid bus bar between contactor and inverter.

Any safety or other suggestions and/or criticism is welcome, and needed! I like to learn and tinker, but I do not have experience with DC systems. Thanks!!
