Thanks for the invitation to join the group. I have just installed a modest 3kW system with Solax inverter and 8 panels. It is working fine thank-you.

A minor issue I have is that the kit came with a small hinged current transformer, Zamel SC-16, which has a short electrical lead with black and red wires. There was no instructions with this, but I have surmised that it can provide feedback to the Solax inverter dongle, enabling me to see on the download app how much solar energy is going to self-use, and how much back to the grid.

The inverter has a RS485 socket, but when I connected the red and black on a RJ45 4-core cable (yellow/green/red/black) and hooked the SC-16 over the mains incomer, the inverter tripped out. I tried both ways with the SC-16, same result.

Have I got the 4-core wire connection wrong? Or should I be looking elsewhere?

Many thanks!
