Hi i got a dual string/mppt inverter, there are 2 x425 watt in series solar panels facing east and 4 panels also 425w facing west connected, as of today they have not produced a thing and the installer says it is due to the weather which i do not agree with, so looking for an opinion. i thought the 4 facing west should produce something, after all, they are 425 watts each. The strange thing is as well that PV1 never goes above 5 volts even on a sunny day, pv2 hovers around 75 volt, so not knowing which has only the 2 on, I would have thought even if it is the string with only 2 panels, it should go higher than 5 volts, also I have now rechecked logs. I have not produced a thing in a month after the installation, so I think there is a fault somewhere. Any opinions are appreciated.

Hello,

More information is needed. What the minimum start up voltage of your inverter?

Links to it and the module specs would be helpful.

I would start by measuring the the actual voltage on the terminals.

Definitely. I would expect the open circuit voltage of PV1 string to be north of 60V in sunlight, assuming standard home type panels - whether or not that is enough for your inverter is another question.

Get the installer back.
