Only using inverter function in an all in 1 unit

Is it possible to use just the inverter function of an all in one unit - something like the Growatt SPF 5000/6000 units? I have one now and happy with the inverter function but the mppt charge functions are limited. Is it possible to use say the Victron Smart Solar MPPTs for charging and just use the Growatt as an inverter (ie don't connect any PV to it)?
