Parallel strings at Inverter(MPPT) or combiner box

I have an Inverex Nitrox (Rebranded Deye) 8kw inverter that has two MPPTs with two inputs for each MPPT. My question is what is the reason to run two strings to be connected to one MPPT in parallel as opposed to paralleling both strings in a combiner box near panels and then running one input to the MPPT?

I understand paralleling in a combiner box means I would have to run a higher gauge wire due to double the amperage which will cost more but so would running two strings to the inverter MPPT. Any insights and suggestions would be appreciated.

My inverter has that too. I'm planning on combining at the panel array so I don't have to pay for an extra set of wires. I'm planning on using a PV Y splitter/combiner cable
