PV array isolation

Hi all, quick beginners question about isolation. If you turn off the solar array at the DC isolator, where does the power go? So imagine you have a string generating 500VDC, when the isolator is off, the panels are still generating this power but it has nowhere to go to, so where does it go? Is this not dangerous? It doesn't generate anything, you have no circuit once the isolator is off

There is no power, just potential for it
