Hi all,
I've recently come across a type of solar panel which combines a PV collector and thermal collector into one unit
Other than some marketing pages, I can't really find much info in terms of vendors, pricing, usage constraints, etc.
My use case is for a residential dutch barge in the UK. I have capacity on my HW tank to add an additional hydronic heat source, and had been looking at solar thermal when I found these. These would work well, at least conceptually, in terms of space taken up and also meeting the needs for solar electric.
Does any one have experience with this kind of panel? I've seen a bit of info that leads me to think that the output temps would be lower than a pure solar thermal panel, and possibly not hot enough for my domestic HW system. Would be interested to know of any experience with them. Likewise, if anyone knows of UK vendors it would be great to find out about them.
Thanks
