Question For You Electrician Types

Brett I just went in the basement to test.

I pushed a 5mm cheap Chinese fish tape thru a leftover 15ft section of non metallic conduit still in coils from packaging and it didn't even slow down until the end.

This is the exact non metallic conduit I used. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ui0Bap4tL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_FMwebp_.jpg

It took <3 minutes to get it through the end. I think half that time was dealing with the fish tape wanting to uncoil on me.

Then I put some Klein synthetic lube and tried again and it went through in 30 seconds.

If your 40ft run is mostly straight and you use a thin flexible tape I suspect you'll be fine. The thicker metal tapes for walls may be more trouble.

It is a straight run from where I’ve put in the posts for the new ground mount to the existing mount attached to the house.
