Question on Behavior of Android App and BMS

I'm using the Overkill 120A 4S BMS. Works great... I just have a simple question on behavior though.

I built a 4S3P battery using some Headway cells and this BMS and I was doing a capacity test. I ran the batteries down near their bottom limit. When the voltage of one cell went below the minimum cell voltage, the BMS opened the circuit and forcibly stopped discharge as it was supposed to do. And I could see this happen in the Android app... the discharge switch moved from yellow to gray and discharge current went to zero. The Charge switch was enabled the whole time.

OK, so now what about charge? Shouldn't it allow charging when it sees a higher voltage from the solar charger? Even though the charge switch was enabled, nothing. I had to manually turn on the discharge to close the BMS circuit and allow charge. The one low cell did not rise above its release threshold yet (but it shouldn't have to! What if the sun comes out - the system should start charging, no?)

Color me confused. What am I missing here?
