Today I became aware of the dangers of using 240V inverters in North America through Ian's video below. Do the risks he addresses apply to all autotransformers? I'm hoping to use a pair of plug-in Rockstone 3000W portable autotransformers for 110V loads, and their ground pin would be connected directly to the inverter. I also have a mini-split air con that'll run on 220V.
I ask because the diagram he draws for the autotransformer in the video seems to be wired differently, but that just might be my newbie perspective.
