Tariffs now delayed by a couple of weeks.

Election year. They'll do this a bunch of times I'm sure. Kinda like the stupid obamacare that got some parts of it delayed over and over because it would have been politically disastrous for them had it kicked in full gear with the resulting peak anger right before.

Seems like the jobs argument might be backwards. Maybe tariffs actually reduce the number of jobs in US by killing off installation jobs?

Such a neat project, a shame to waste it in a thread where the haters are raging at efforts to build panels in America. You deserve a thread of your own where American workers making panels can feel welcome. That "neat" project you are touting uses GCL panels (GCL is headquartered in Hong Kong)...

Anything you subsidize, you get more of.
Anything you tax (tariff), you get less of.

So with one hard, they incentivize going solar with tax credits and REC's. Then with the other hand, they make the products more expensive.
Government needs a hard reset.

Or maybe they know this. What was the incentive costing them? It's locked in place for many years, they are stuck with it. How better to slow it down than make it less attractive? Na, never mind, I'm giving them way too much credit.

Electric utilities could be the source of the lobbying effort to keep costs high. They have done all they can to keep batteries expensive by adding more and more UL regulation.
