I am looking for something that I can use on the grid and off the grid and this product will do it but it is to big and not real portable for me. Will did a video on a 3000 watt system on a hand truck that was off grid. I would like something like that but that is grid tie and off grid. The Sol Ark is it but just to much system for me. I would like a smaller package that I can do somehow like Lego on a hand truck... Sorry if I am making a mess of the board with all these threads, I should probably stop thinking out loud.... Thanks....

You can think out loud here but you need to define what you mean by grid tied and on grid. Almost every inverter we talk about here has a grid input.

When you say "on the grid" are you referring to a grid-interactive inverter that has Sell-Back capability or an off-grid inverter that has an AC Input for pass-thru and aux battery charging.

Portable and Grid-Tie are mostly mutually exclusive since any kind of net metering or grid interaction requires approval from the utility company and is limited to one address.

Sounds like you just want an AIO and charge from the grid, not sell to?
