Sunny island and generator not talking

Hi guys,
So I have a sunny island 8, and sunny boy inverters with power plus lithium batteries, my old generator died so the shop lent me one the same while they fix mine,
Problem I have is when I first connected it it would instantly trip the breaker on the Genny, after a call to them we fixed that by removing the men cable , now the sunny island grid light turns orange for the 2 min warmup, goes green for maybe 5 seconds and then goes red and no charge,
We are full Offgrid and really need the generator working, any advice appreciated guys

What generator are you trying to use? If you can access the SI error codes it will tell you why the generator is failing to connect.

The fact that the person helping you supplied you with a generator including a Neutral Ground bond doesn’t inspire confidence they supplied you with a suitable generator.
