Am I understanding the manual correctly, that however you have it set up, if the grid is up and the battery hits its low it will charge the battery from grid ??

Really dont want to pay to charge it so was hoping battery priority wouldnt end up charging from the grid.

Does anyone have experience with these ?

Ive got a similar 6kw type model. If you dont want to charge from the grid dont run 240v input to the inverter, problem solved.

Yes but Im using it to power some critical loads so need grid to take over if the battery is low

Gotcha, you could select battery type to 0 so it doesnt charge your battery. It should run line power through the inverter to the critical loads. Dont quote me on that, definately verify that.

Another option is to chose a charge setup that gives your pack the lowest charge on the type of battery you select. Selecting 3 for lithium would give a slightly lower charge.
