Switching to 24v from 12v by adding new batteries in series

New Member
Hey folks,
I have 2 6v 430 ah batteries in series for 12v
They have @ 35 cycles discharged to
@12.0-12.2v charged full each cycle.
How dangerous would it be to add two identical new batteries in series for 24v?
Or should I test capacity with a multimeter
And run the new ones for the same cycles until they match? :)
Thanks much

They are rated at 1,200 cycles at 50% DOD ...
Therefore, I do not think that 35 cycles will make much difference.
Charge all 4 to 100% SOC, connect all 4 in series, and then verify that the old & new voltages are similar during discharge
Also, send an email to the Crown engineers ...
