Trying to expand power station capacity with external battery

I've seen quite a few videos on how to expand a power station with a generic external battery. Most of them use a 12v 100ah battery with a 12v-to-24v step up module. I figured I could limit the amount of extra parts needed and bought a 24v 100ah battery. Now, I have a basically no name power station called Ecoplay SYD3600. It is pretty much an Ecoflow Delta Pro knockoff. I believe it is the same as a Fossibot F3600. So I hooked up the 24v battery to the power station with a terminal ring to XT90 connector but the incoming watts really fluctuate a lot. It goes from 0 up to 275 and back down to 0 non stop. What is the problem here? When I look at those videos they all seem to stay pretty stable. What am I doing wrong?

My guess is that the current is the issue. The port is intended for panel input where you have a current limited source.
What 24 volt battery are you using?
