ALL,
My setup is as followed: Growatt 5000 ES, with a split phase transformer. 2x 5kw EG4 batteries.
We are completely off grid and have a Honda i2200 generator.
My question is two fold: has anyone had any luck with using the generator as the AC input to the growatt? If so, does this charge the battery or just bypass them to go power the loads to the house?
Signature solar does NOT recommend using a generator because the draw is too high but we are running out of options. Our 48v battery charger crapped out on us.
