What version of the firmware do you have? 3.02? Also is it networked to a GX device or independent and just getting the data directly from the bluetooth connection?

7/6 release for 250/100 is 3.06. I'm still on 3.05 since I don't connect direct with Victron Connect.

I'll update through VRM and report.

all of my up dates came through the blue tooth thing firmware 2.25

How do they force updates on you? Can't you just keep it from connecting to the internet?

You can not connect to the device without performing the update.
The trick is to avoid updating VictronConnect. Once your system is stable, don't update VictronConnect and you will never have to update the firmware of anything just to connect with VictronConnect.

Victron actually tells you not to update the firmware of anything in a working system. I recently noticed, via VRM, that the firmware on my MultiPlus was several versions behind. So I thought I should update. Right at the beginning of the VRM firmware update process is a big warning. So I decided that since my system works fine, I would not do the update.

When first setting up a system you probably want the latest of everything. Once it's working, leave it alone and enjoy. If a firmware update addresses an issue that you are actually having, then do an update.

Does that mean the device has to be plugged into internet? And it the answer is no, then how will it know there is an update to be applied?

If your phone is connected to the internet when you try to connect using the VictronConnect app then the app can check the latest version before allowing the connection...
