Victron Energy VE.Direct Smart Dongle measure temperature?

I want to program my Phoenix Inverter and add temperature monitoring does the dongle have a temperature sensor itself or will it just monitor a external sensor?

The VE.Direct smart dongle just give BT to a VictronConnect compatible device that doesn't have it. It does not monitor temperature.

What Phoenix do you have?

What do you need to monitor temperature for? Phoenix is an inverter only, so it doesn't care about battery temps for charging.

I have the VE direct 1200 and 375. I want to be able to adjust and monitor the Inverters. I just upgraded to LiFePO4 batteries so I was also hunting temperature monitoring for a victron 30A mppt I want to upgrade to. I was hoping the Bluetooth dongle monitored temps like the bus version just to save a few bucks. I will add the smart battery sense to the shopping cart as well, thank you.

If you have a smartshunt, the smartshunt temperature sensor can be shared via VE.Smart.
