Hi Guys

So I have three, month-old sever rack batteries from Fogstar uk.

They have a new firmware update, so I installed it,

before the firmware update all three batteries were showing around 98%

immediately after the fireware up-date they all went to 50% SOC

I called fogstar and they said that is normal and the batteries need to slowly learn their position.

I was told to discharge them and charge them a few times.

I don't get that!!!!!

I have discharged them to a point where the display shows 30% (take note, I said display) but they are not at 30% are they

how will I know when they are trully at say 20% and need charging if the display is out of whack ???

They need to get to 100% for the SOC to reset.
After that a few cycles will let them learn the rest.

I have never seen a SOC algorithm for LiFePO4 that will stay accurate without periodic reset to 100%. In practice this isn’t a big issue.
