Why Bother!? $$$OffGrid$$$

I also considered microhydroelectric, but alas our creek is too low head/low flow for that to make any sense.
Don't discount a small hydroelectric setup. Currently, I'm running two houses on 350 watts of hydro. It runs 24/7 so it adds up. Do you have at least 10ft of head? 2" pipe of water and 10ft of head is all you need.

10ft of drop and 50 gallons per minute flow, and you'd get roughly 32kWH/month or a bit over 1kWH per day, even on rainy days. Block off your creek as much as you can and run it through a 2" pipe or bigger and test how many gpm you have. If you decide to pursue further, feel free to message me. I am glad to help.

Keep in mind that you're replying to a comment I made in 2020 - 4 years ago. The 'give it time' aspect has kicked in now, and things are much better now on the cost aspect.
Very true… I should have held off a few years to buy all this stuff… but…. Ya know..I didn’t.
