How much difference in cost is #8 vs 12 or 10?
If running cable, I'm of the mind bigger is better at long distances...

Looks like #12 is about 120 for a 500ft spool
#10 is about 200,
#8 I'd have to price by the foot online, I can check my supplier tomorrow...
Likely about 100 more I'd guess.

I use my local Lowe's prices, so far they have the best prices. I do agree bigger is better, especially if I make changes in the future. I can get 12awg (solid) for 106$ per 500ft, 10awg (stranded) for 159$ per 500ft.
8awg for 239$ per 500ft
