That's the truth.... if you're making a big order, you could save some money getting it directly from the manufacturer, but it is alot to learn and can be stressful at times. If I had to do things again, I'd probably just pay a bit more and order from the states... at least for the batteries.Oh and about the cost - by the time you pay for customs, shipping, and stateside logistics it will definitely be quite a bit more than $2000.

It took right at about 4 months from the time I paid for the order until it arrived in oklahoma. About one month for them to get the order ready. Another one month for it to get on a boat, and 2 months of travel time (though a big portion of that is the shipping delays in LA which added almost an extra month). It also stayed in the warehouse in OK for almost 2 weeks since I had a few issues with my customs broker (had to switch brokers because my first one sucked!)
Here's the breakdown in USD...
6 x 48v, 200Ah power walls = $2,150 each
1 x battery combiner box = $320
2x Deye 8k Inverters = $2,050 each
Total = $17,320
Shipping paid to seller = $610
Import bond = $500 (would be only $75 if for a a single shipment, but I set it up for multiple imports at a later time)
Port and import fees = $632.16
Customs and Duty (turned out to be just under 30% after all broker fees etc)= $5,130.25
Total cost = $24,252.41
So after everything I paid 40% additional for shipping, customs and fees. So here's the final cost breakdown including all shipping, taxes, etc.
Deye 8k inverter = $2900 each
48v, 200aH power wall = $3000 each
Batter combiner = $450
I hope to get these hooked up in the next 2-3 weeks if the weather cooperates.

Meh.... I think Sol-Ark price is reasonable considering that they 1) are increasing the warranty, 2) have to hire technicians, 3) have to warehouse the items, 4) need to make a profit. I don't think a 100% markup is unreasonable. Not everyone is willing to take the time/effort/risk to order directly from overseas.Wow. Still ao much better than Sol-Ark. I bought 2 inverters. I am wanting to buy 2 more along with a bunch of the Rosen powerwalls. My contact from there told me the price for the inverters are now $3100 vs $2050. Yep but you can still get the single phase and autotransformers much cheaper than solar. I am interested in learning when a solar 15 K (if it is actually 15 K) will be available and the pricing. Engineer 775 recently mentioned being a beta tester for this soon. That would accomplish several things . Realistically a $9,000 ish price tag and avoid the multi inverter setups saving quite a bit in wiring and setup etc and for really large systems using 2 instead of 3 inverters. I would go for a single 15K rather than 2 8K if it were in the ballpark on price etc.Meh....
