Neey 10A balancer red LED flashing?

Also make sure you are connecting 1-16, but also the last cable which is main cell positive, and the same as #16. The wiring diagram is very specific!

Nay, my Neey 10A is one of the new model which doesn't have the last pin B+ if you check the picture link at my first post.

It still uses the last pin on main cell positives though, right?

Nope, I am using 16s cells. The pin B24 is not connected to 16th main cell positive.

Darn it. The 10A balancer beeping and red LED flashing non-stop again.

Based on the indicator status I found, the red flashing means "resistance of the equalizing line is too large".
Checked each Lifepo4 cell internal resistance, all around 0.18ohm.
Checked the wiring harness resistance, all wires fine 0.01ohm.
What exactly is wrong with the balancer. One day it works, another day it doesn't.

Any idea guys?

Hello Ashley,

I've had the same problem with this balancer: a fairly new device and sometimes it would stop working altogether. When I restarted the box it worked fine (green lamp + blue lamp), but when I connect via the Bluetooth it starts beeping and red LED. I have tried many things and now seem to have it under control for at least a few days and 3 rounds of full charge with balance. I had contacted the supplier who gave some tips, but it seems to me that the voltage is too high when the pack is fully loaded.

My steps:
- make sure your phone doesn't reconnect (passively/in the background) to the Neey (close app, I had connections from 2 competing phones).
- now discharge the battery as with normal use, I stopped discharging at about 60% capacity (of a 48V pack).
- Now disconnect (2 connectors) the Neey from the battery and leave it disconnected overnight.
- adjust maximum voltage of your battery to 55.2Volt. I was still working on the occasional top balance at 56.8V, there seems to be a problem there, apparently there is a maximum voltage of the pack that the Neey accepts.
- connect the Neey to the pack again (first cable harness 2 (cells 9 to 16) and only then cable harness 1 (- pole + cell 1 to 8), the Neey will then start up
- connect to the app (Enerkey) and look at the settings.

Since I did this, no more errors. I have asked the supplier for specifications of the Neey regarding max pack voltage etc because I still want to be able to do a top balance (occasionally) at 56.8V.

Good luck, Bart

That weird, my charging voltage is only 55.2V (16cells). The only way to get it working is to let it NEEY unconnected for few days as if waiting for the supercapacitor charge to run out. Yet, the same beeping issue still happen after few days of usage.

I bought another 10A balancer from other supplier (Enerkey) and there is no issue after continuous usage from February 2024 until now.

For experiment sake for the problematic Neey 10A, last week I plugged it into my new BatteroTech pack and guess what, after running well for 4 days, it beeping again....sigh.......

That's a shame, I hope it continues to work for me now.

I have also noticed that sometimes the Neey seems to 'reset' and sometimes not, it seems like errors in the boot process remain cached.

I also made an intermediate step once by first connecting 1 harness and configuring an 8P battery, then the Neey started up. I also worked for a while with 'only' 5A level instead of 10A. Against all knowledge :)

It's just really bad that it works so unreliably for something that just needs to run stable. I also had the plan to buy another brand, but I'm a bit afraid that this is 1 manufacturer that supplies them white-labeled to all parties.

Without doubting you :) Are you sure that the pack is actually at 55.2V and a charger not accidentally charges it to a higher voltage?

Yes, tried with Growatt SPF5000ES (Sinopoly) and SPF6000ES (Batterotech).
3 different multimeters = measured the voltage at pack terminal too as requested by so called seller/technician.
Same issue where NEEY 10A will beeping and flashing red light out of nowhere after few days of usage.
The only way to "reset" the balancer is to let it unconnected for few days so the internal supercapacitors will be discharged. Then the balancer can be used normally again......before the same issue happens again after few days.

I believe there are certain faulty batches in circulation here.
