Thought I'd start a thread for JBD's new 250 and 300A BMS (SP04S060) and new 5A Active Balancer B04S003. I've just purchased these from their aliexpress store and they arrived (in Australia) within a week.
There's no J4 connector soldered on the BMS which is marked "Balancer" but I'm hoping this will just be a switch output controlled by the BMS balance function.
The new active balance board has some interesting connectors marked J2 (SW) and J3 (GND/VEG). I haven't completely been able to determine the workings of this board yet but will report back when I do. If anyone has any knowledge here please share it. My guess is the that shorting the SW will activate balancing. It seems the green LED is always active.
The following chinglish from the Balance Board datasheet:
"3.2 The equalization can be turned on after sending the command; after the equalization is turned on, stop sending the command, the control pin will turn off and on again, and then continue
Turn it on and turn it off after powering on again; after the balance board goes to sleep, the protection board needs to send a command to wake up, and the balance on flag will be read only after waking up.
3.3 When the battery pack is working, when the active balancing board detects that the total voltage of the battery pack is higher than13VActive balancing will be enabled."
Thanks to @DJSmiley for his original post on the BSM.
Attached are datasheets and pics
