I also see 70 volts on pv 2 input on just one inverter. pv2 is not connected to either inverter.
  • Post in thread: EG4 new upgraded manual

I just got an email from Signature Solar about a newly upgraded manual for EG4 6500ex-48, Version 2.0.0 - August 2022
  • Post in thread: In what order should I purchase equipment

Yes. I'll start with the inverter then batteries.
  • Post in thread: LINE or LOAD?

Are they selling the wrong breaker for this purpose? Liability issues here?
  • Post in thread: Eg4 LL Guidance

So your battery is connected to the load terminal correct on the relay?.
  • Post in thread: Wire sizing for eg4LL batteries to buss bars

They are two 6500watt EG4 inverters in split phase. I have two 48-volt eg4 batteries to use. These batteries have/ come with foot long #4 cables for use in their battery rack, which I didn't purchase. The terminals on these batteries are very small, a 2 ought lug wont fit. They used #4 but I...
  • Post in thread: Eg4 LL Guidance

That's how I have it wired as well even though they tell me it's not correct. https://diysolarforum.com/threads/line-or-load.49116/

    Not yet, reading it now.

  • Post in thread: Wire sizing for eg4LL batteries to buss bars

I heard that the pos and neg cable from the buss bars to the inverter had to be the same length.
  • Post in thread: Signature solar 200A breakers help

Was I allowed to post that?.I bought everything on this list except the fuses.
  • Post in thread: Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Thanks for the good info. I am not grid-tied, do I still need an SPD at the 50a input AC side?. My input comes off my main panel on a 50 A breaker. I can see at the AC out and then at the HVAC itself. Maybe this for the inverter output panel and this at the furnace connection
  • Post in thread: How does your inverter deal with ground.

It was a rainy morning if I remember correctly, not a smart choice. He slipped and fell on the probe I believe.
  • Post in thread: Can't Increase Eg4 6500 Battery Charge Rate w EG4 LifePower4

    Did that solve the issue?
  • Post in thread: In what order should I purchase equipment

I'm thinking along the same lines. The supply of panels is stateside so availability should hold for some time. 48-volt batteries are imported as are the inverters.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

This is not so good. And I have two on the way.
  • Post in thread: Signature solar 200A breakers help

No not an outlet. I have a dedicated 15A circuit from my main panel that is right next to the inverters but not used for anything. Was wondering if I could use it.
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

Thanks for the replies. It reads fine at 120 volts with the solar disconnected. My setup is below.
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

Here's what I have found so far. I have two strings of 5 250w panels, I see no grounding issues and they each read approximately the same voltage output with a meter. The strings go to a dual PV isolator switch mounted near the inverters and from there one string to each pv1 input on the...

Excellent ideas, thanks. Do you think those aluminized-looking emergency blankets would work, maybe they are mylar instead of aluminum.

    Well, that doesn't sound promising.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX-48 grid draw increases as PV starts up in the morning

That was me on your YouTube channel. I will run more tests this weekend. Also, I updated solar Assistant to the latest version and it seems a bit unstable from the last version. Wondering if it could be reporting incorrectly.
  • Post in thread: Ground/neutral bond? (EG4 3kw)

Interesting. I am at the point in the installation where I need you guys help. I have the same breaker panel that Will uses in his video install and I have removed both bonding screws in the inverters as well. picture below. I notice that he has the green bonding screw installed and the grounds...

  • Post in thread: 304ah cells. Ordered Monday arrived Friday

I'm new at this but why would you buy these over a cheaper 48volt rack mount battery for $1500?. I don't get it. What is the difference in power in a 48v configuration?
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

I have two EG4 inverters which are feeding a transfer switch that is in the main panel in the house where neutral and ground are of course bonded. Both inverter internal bonding screws are removed and the neutral, ground, and L1, and L2 from the inverters are kept separate and run directly to...
  • Post in thread: Aosmith hybrid water heaters wasted $

https://www.rewiringamerica.org/app/ira-calculator/information/heat-pump-water-heater Looks like if you're on social security they pay 100 percent of the cost at the point of purchase.
  • Post in thread: Heat pump amps spiking (Fixed)

After following this post I am going to install one on my 60A panel breaker to cover my well pump surge.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX48 bypass mode settings

They are partially elevated but I ran out of daylight yesterday. I will use some 4x4s I have laying around. Thanks.
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

When I throw the xfer switch the bond should take place from the panel and my readings should be correct I assume.

  • Post in thread: Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

  • Post in thread: Is this correct?

"It depends. If it is a single inverter that does dynamic NG bonding, then no; you should not remove the screw. If it is stacked with more than one inverter then Yes, you should remove the screw on all but one of them." I have two EG4 inverters which are feeding a transfer switch that is in the...
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

That makes sense, thanks. Should I re-install a bonding screw in one inverter as I saw suggested on here a while back? This is an interesting subject. Thanks for your time, sir.
  • Post in thread: Another EG6500 quirk?

I noticed today after the inverters randomly shut down again that I was showing roughly 75 volts coming in on PV2 to inverter#2. This is the first time I have noticed this and I have no input/ connection to PV2. My solar arrays connect one to each inverter on PV1. Interesting.

  • Post in thread: Is liquid tite legal for inside conduit?.

I see a lot of posts with wall-mounted inverters and 3/4 liquidtite PVC flexible conduit running along the drywall to the panels. Is this ok to do running along drywall?.Also, I have an interior wall to run #6 wire thru to get to my panel. Can I put a box on one side and another directly across...
